SOLD! “Nelson” – Special Needs Mini-Bernedoodle Boy
We are very excited to introduce an incredible tri-color mini-Bernedoodle boy born between Mary & Zac born November 29, 2020. Mary is an imported Bernese Mountain Dog from Europe with generations of show champions and health clearances. Mary has the lowest hip score of any Bernese we own or have seen (her brother has the same score). She is beautiful, sweet and loving. She weighs 78 lbs. Zaccheaus is a toy poodle weighing in at 13 lbs. We obviously did not breed this litter naturally. We did surgical insemination and produced an incredible litter. Zac has all of his health clearances and comes from generations of health clearance.
Nelson (name can change) has a loving and calm personality. He is dependent, middle of the road with his activity and confidence levels. He absolutely loves love and is the first to come and last to leave your side. But he is not a pup that is overly needy or clingy. He is balanced with his energy levels and does like to play when you are ready but is also content to just hang out by your side. He isn’t a pup to push the boundaries or get himself into trouble. He is also not shy or timid. Size wise, he is average size boy in his litter and currently weighs 24 lbs. Our best guess is he will get to be 35-45 lbs full grown with a stunning full coat. What makes Nelson “special needs” is that he has a luxating patella, which is essentially a “floating” knee cap. We found this during one of his health test. It is not common in either Bernese or Poodles but anything is possible. Nelson has no knee pain and is not showing any lameness at all. The veterinarian team never recommends doing anything unless he shows any sort of discomfort. If he does end up needing a surgery, it is a highly successful surgery. It is one of the most successful surgeries a dog can get and the cost runs around $2,000-$4,000 depending on where you live. As a result of the risk of him needing surgery, we have lowered his price $10,000 to cover surgery if needed.
He is to go home after:
